Dr. Michael J. Enright
Chemistry

Michael Enright received his A.B. in chemistry from Ripon College in 2014 and his Ph.D in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Washington with the guidance of Professor Brandi Cossairt. He accomplished his postdoctoral research with Ralph Nuzzo at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2019-2021.
Undergraduate Research Assistants
Fay Harris
Chemistry
Fay Harris is a Freshman at San Francisco State University pursuing a BA in chemistry, a minor in music, and a minor in the classics. She feels verry passionate about quantum dots. In her free time, she teaches classical piano and reads historical romance novels.

Gabi Vazquez
Biology
Gabi Vazquez is a junior at San Francisco State University majoring in Biology with a big interest in all sciences. She is pursuing a future in the medical field with the target to give back to her community. In her free time, she enjoys being a part of the outdoors hiking as well as exploring new food locations.

Gayatri Kundassery
Biochemistry
Gayatri Kundassery is a student at the University of Washington. She has the intention of a BS in Biochemistry with a minor in Climate Science. She has been a musician since the earliest of her memories - singer, campfire guitarist, and harmonium player. She is also a passionate member of AYUDH, a youth service movement focusing on aiding environmental and social issues. Forever in love with nature and everything magical, including chemistry.
Former Members
Catie Bodinger
Chemistry
Materials Science

Catie Bodinger is a senior at Western Washington University majoring in chemistry with a minor in materials science. She is a Hambly Research Scholar investigating quantum dots for photocatalysis. Previously Catie earned a Materials Science in Extreme Environments undergraduate research award from the University Research Alliance (URA) in collaboration with the Hopkins Extreme Materials Science Institute (HEMI) and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and conducted research at the Applied Sciences Laboratory of Washington State University.
Duck Carnahan
Chemistry
Mathematics

D. Michael "Duck" Carnahan is a graduate student at Stony Brook Univesity in New York. He graduated from Western Washington University in 2023. At WWU, Duck investigated the kinetics of selenium nanoparticle growth and anisotropic nanorod elongation in semiconductor nanocrystals. Prior to attending WWU, he was a physics major at Peninsula College where he also assisted in labs and tutored STEM majors with learning disabilities. He has a vested interest in STEM education and studying thermodynamics.
Grace Himka
Biochemistry

Grace Himka graduated from Western Washington University in 2023 with a BS in Biochemistry at Western Washington University. She is a Joseph and Karen Morse Endowed Research Fellow investigating anisotropy in nanomaterials to improve photocatalysis. She hopes to pursue veterinarian school or research after graduating in the Spring of 2023. In her free time, she enjoys painting and spending time outdoors.
Jenai Simons
Chemical Engineering

Jenai Simons is a senior in the chemical engineering program at UC-Berkeley. She investigated rates of photocatalysis using molecular probes as an NSF-REU fellow in 2022. Outside of the lab, Jenai works at bricks 4 Kidz and is excellent at decorating with stickers.
